The Goal of the Project:
I made this piece as a challenge to my texturing skills and hard surface modeling. I usually work on items with historical references; this was science fiction which was appealing to try out. It also pushed my hard surface modeling further.
I utilized hard surface modeling techniques inside of 3DS Max, notably Crease Sets, and OpenSubDiv to create my high poly. Then proceeded to optimize and unwrap inside of Max. The textures were done inside of Substance Painter by hand. I animated the heartbeat texture in the final Unreal Render.
